Museum Buzzz… July 2-8

Super Summer Saturdays Last weekend’s ZunZun show was a huge success. Join us at the Museum this weekend for the second show of the series: Beautiful Bats with the Bat Conservancy of Coastal California. Come see several of these shy and elusive creatures up close and personal! Learn surprising facts and dispel common misconceptions about our nocturnal friends. Drop in between 10:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday, July 9.

Sentinel Article Learn more about our endangered neighbors in the latest Connect With Nature column in the Santa Cruz Sentinel, written by our new Education Manager Deborah McArthur.

Birds of a Feather at Santa Cruz County Bank This art exhibit will feature works by seven artists, including Endangered Neighbors photographer Sebastian Kennerknecht, all of which pay tribute to the upcoming Monterey Bay Birding Festival. On display July 15-September 30 at all Santa Cruz County Bank locations.

Touch Tank Update Thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers who got up early to explore the beach last Tuesday, our touch tank is currently full of wonderful specimens, including an impressive sea slug that almost looks like it should be in a redwood forest. As an added bonus, this weekend we’ll have a volunteer on hand during our Super Summer Saturdays event to chat with visitors about tidepools and the critters that live in them – so make sure you stop by to take a look.
